Meet Our Team

Skyler Zunk


       A native Virginian, Skyler brings a span of government, non-profit, campaign, and private sector experience to his part in founding Energy Right in the Commonwealth.

       Recently, Skyler worked for Conservatives for Clean Energy - Virginia and served as Director of Operations on Delegate Kirk Cox’s bid for Governor. Skyler’s grassroots experience in conservative campaigns and causes extends across the Commonwealth.

       Prior to returning to central Virginia, Skyler served in the Trump Administration as Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt’s Special Assistant. At the Department of the Interior, Skyler witnessed large-scale energy projects in all phases of development and saw just what is possible when conservative principles guide energy decisions.

       Skyler is a proud alumnus of Washington and Lee University. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing, and hunting.

Blake Cox

       Blake, prior to founding Energy Right, has had a range of experience in campaigns, including data analytics, messaging, political and field operations, and more. An alumnus of Sacred Heart University, Blake studied marketing and business while playing on the men’s volleyball team. 

       A central Virginia native, Blake started his campaign work in central Virginia and moved to northern Virginia entering the polling industry at Public Opinion Strategies. At POS, Blake oversaw projects including local, state, and federal campaigns, as well as public affairs projects including various energy entities and healthcare companies. 

       Blake then returned to central Virginia as a Senior Political Director for Kirk Cox’s bid for governor, and most recently was the campaign manager for a House of Delegates race in Southside Virginia.

Jacob Carasella


     A proud Yorktown native, Jacob joins the Energy Right team after serving as the Director of Candidate & Legislative Services for the Republican Party of Virginia. During the 2022 election season, Jacob assisted hundreds of candidates during their campaigns for local office. 

     While attending James Madison University, Jacob was introduced to politics by Senator Mark Obenshain and his wife, Suzanne. After earning a Bachelors in International Affairs and Political Science, he began working as a Legislative Aide for a Member of Parliament in the British House of Commons. Returning to Virginia, Jacob expanded his work with several campaigns and legislative offices to include those of Delegate Karen Greenhalgh and Delegate Glenn Davis.

     Jacob's interest in clean energy was piqued when he and Delegate Greenhalgh toured a solar and battery storage facility in Powhatan County. Jacob's skills in government, campaigns, and public affairs will lend to his success as Energy Right's Director of Community Outreach.

Meet Our Board

Ron Butler

       Ron serves on Energy Right's Board of Directors following his leadership of Conservatives for Clean Energy -- Virginia. 

       Ron was founding partner of Creative Direct, one of the largest and most successful Republican voter contact firms in the nation. Under Ron’s leadership, Creative Direct played a pivotal role in some of the biggest Republican victories across the nation including many U.S. Senators, Governors, members of Congress and state elected offices.

       Prior to forming Creative Direct, Ron served as political director for the Republican Party of Virginia, field director for the Republican National Committee, as well as running campaigns for statewide offices.   He lives in Richmond, VA with his wife Elizabeth, who serves on the Republican Party of Virginia State Central Committee.   They have two college aged children attending VCU and VMI.

Dr. Judi Lynch


       Dr. Judi M. Lynch resides in Christiansburg, VA and serves as Chief of Staff to Delegate Jason Ballard, 12th House District, Virginia General Assembly.

       Judi graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Arts followed by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University [Virginia Tech], where she received a Master of Arts in Education and Doctor of Philosophy (Educational Leadership and Policy Studies). Judi has proudly worked at both alma maters as a Longwood Admissions Counselor followed by Virginia Tech Student and Alumni Programs Coordinator, College of Engineering Director of Undergraduate Recruiting, and Director of Special Initiatives for the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, adding a third alma mater to her professional career when she served as Principal of Saint Gertrude High School in Richmond; additionally, Judi has worked for several members of the Virginia General Assembly (both House and Senate).

       In 2022, Governor Glenn Youngkin appointed Judi to a four-year term on the Longwood University Board of Visitors, which followed a previous appointment to the Longwood BOV by former Governor Bob McDonnell (2010-2014), during which time Judi served as Vice Rector for two years and Secretary for one, along with a second appointment as a member of the Governor’s Taskforce for School and Campus Safety (2013-2014).

Kim Wiley


       Kim is a member of the Greensville County Planning Commission and has been serving since 2019. She recently completed the Virginia Commonwealth University Land Use Education Program becoming a

Certified Planning Commissioner.

       She is a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. After spending 30 years in Raleigh, working in accounting software implementation, Kim returned home to Southside Virginia to help care for her parents and manage the family farms. While in North Carolina, she became interested in solar development and continues to advocate for renewable energy.

       When she is not bending your ear about solar, you will find Kim in her flower garden.

Jackie Barrack

       Jackie Barrack joins the Energy Right Board of Directors as a business owner and engaged citizen in Virginia's Northern Neck. Jackie is engaged in the clean energy industry as a landowner in a utility scale solar project currently in development in Lancaster County. A freedom-minded Virginian, Jackie stands for the property rights of landowners in his community and beyond.
